Our favourite maltster Crisp Malt recently released an interesting new malt in their small batch series, #04 Toasted Malted Oats, with the somewhat intriguing tasting notes of flapjack and roasted hazelnuts. Exciting, right?! We knew we had to give it a try.
Paired with our usual base of Extra Pale Maris Otter, Naked Oats and some unmalted oats (and a pinch of German chit malt) and then DDHd with Belma, Zappa and Mosaic hops – this hazy monster sure is something else. Notes of toasted bread, cantaloupe, strawberry, tropical stone fruits and blueberry candy.
Malts: Maris Otter Extra Pale, Naked Oats, Torrefied Oats, Toasted Oats & Chit Malt. Hops: Mosaic Incognito, Belma, Zappa & Mosaic. Yeast: WLP066 London Fog.
